20:20 WebTech is Now 20:20 Social

20-20-social 100 days after announcing that Sunil and I were starting social media research and analytics company 20:20 WebTech, I have the pleasure of telling you that much has changed since then, for better.

First, Dave has joined our core team and we now have a really strong center around which we can build the rest of the team. Our team has already grown to double digits and we are still recruiting.

Second, we have been pleasantly surprised by how receptive Indian CMOs have been to strategic long-term community and relationship marketing programs. It seems that the economic downturn has finally forced them to look beyond print and TV advertising and seriously consider one-to-one marketing.

Third, we have discovered that it’s possible to build a pure-play consulting practice in India, focused on social media. We don’t do any creatives, or any coding, or any outreach, and that has enabled us to focus on long-term strategy and operate at a higher level than other social media and digital agencies in India.

In fact, we are so encouraged by the response that we have decided to focus on social media strategy for Indian and international brands, instead of social media analytics for international brands.

We have also moved to a new identity — 20:20 Social — that is more in sync with the services we are offering and our new website is structured as a social network, a symbol of our belief in the power of communities.

Indeed, a lot can happen in a 100 days!
