How much is your blog worth?
Inspired by Tristan Louis’s research into the value of each link to Weblogs Inc, Dane Carlson of Business Opportunities has created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays a blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.

Yup, thanks, I know…I tried it a long time back myself and had it up on the blog. But you would expect the value to keep changing, wouldn’t you…considering the fluctuations in visitor-traffic, post-output etc? This one doesn’t change…even if you try it a few months later, it’ll show exactly the same value. So, I got rid of it.

True. The Great Indian Mutiny (mutiny.wordpress.com) has stayed at $51K something since June while its ranking on technorati has gone up by over 30K places.

@ IdeaSmith: It still sounds romactic, though, the possibility of knowing how much your blog is worth, with a click of your mouse. You know what will be even more interesting? An instant camera that takes your picture, calculates the sum of your good and bad deeds, in this life or another, and tell you:
@ Jacob: I came across your blog yesterday while browsing through technorati tags and really liked it. Carry on with the mutiny!.

:p….that’s a lifetime quest, not a one-click answer…

[...] I’ve already started playing one blogworth counter against another. Surfing Latests Posts today, I came across a post called “How Much is Your Blog Worth,” which, given recent events, was bound to attract a laserlike focus from moi. It’s from Gauravonomics, and introduces a much more sophisticated blogworth calculator than the aforementioned Pingoat’s. [...] Ever since I found a calculator that told me how much my blog was worth, I have found myself having comment-conversations about fantasy gadgets (here and here). As memes have suddenly become very popular in the blogosphere, I’ll try my hand at one and ask Kingsley, Ideasmithy, Chandrachoodan, Sashi and Santosh to list a fantasy gadget each. Here are two of mine: [...]
