International Perspectives on Access to and Use of Social Media Tools
Welcome back to Gauravonomics Blog! Subscribe to my feed now and you'll never miss a single post!
Here are my slides for tomorrow’s session in PDF and PPTX format.
We will discuss that access and cost of access for communications technologies are real issues in emerging countries. We will talk about the 4Cs of digital inequality: computing devices, connectivity, content and capability. We will also see how, in spite of access issues, emerging economies have sizable internet and mobile user bases that can’t be ignored.
We will find how content creators are more influential than content consumers in social media. We will discover that most social media users around the world are still content consumers. We will see that trust and privacy are real issues for social media users. Finally, we will imagine a world where the Chinese dominate social media by sheer size.
