My ‘Hundred Must Read Desi Blogs’ List

It has been a week since I put up my thirty by thirty list, and already I have had some early wins.
I’m now writing for both DesiPundit and Global Voices, something I wouldn’t even have dreamed of a few months back. This gives me an unique opportunity to showcase upcoming desi blogs to both desi (via DesiPundit) and global (via Global Voices) readers and I’m hoping that, by promoting good desi blogs, I’ll play a small part in the growth of desi blogging itself.
I’m also trying to help other (desi) bloggers through my blogging tips for beginners - Novice Blogger - series. As you know, I’m not an expert on blogs or blogging. I still struggle with the simplest of code, I still make basic blogging mistakes, and my blog is not even moderately popular in terms of most metrics like number of feed subscribers, number of back-links, or number of comments. However, every single day, I’m trying out new things, both at the front-end and at the back-end, making mistakes and learning from my mistakes. I share my mistakes, and my learnings, in the hope that some of it will be useful to other bloggers, especially beginners. So, go ahead, read my Novice Blogger series, subscribe to my Novice Blogger feed, or bookmark my Novice Blogger resource page, and if you have more questions, feel free to contact me by e-mail or via my contact form. I cannot promise that I’ll always be prompt, or useful, but I’ll try.
As some of you know, I have about two hundred desi blogs on my feedreader. Given that I have a sixty hour work week, I cannot always keep up with my feed backlog, but I try. I recently wrote a post on my five favorite desi bloggers because I found myself thinking of the joy I felt when I first discovered blogs, and realized that I still feel it when I read some blogs. In the same spirit, I have started a page on “Hundred Must Read Desi Blogs”. Starting with the five blogs I have already written about, I’ll add one blog to the list every day. Everyday, for the next three months, I’ll write a short post on the blog I’m adding to my list and call it “Desi Blog of the Day”. I’ll add new blogs to the list until I reach hundred and, after that, when I add a new blog to it, I’ll delete another one from it. Once more, I would like to re-iterate that my “Hundred Must Read Desi Blogs” list is not an expert’s list but an enthusiast’s.
If you think that I should include your blog in the list, please drop in a comment. As I’m only adding one blog a day, and I can already think of at least twenty blogs I want to add to the list, I might not add your blog immediately. However, if I like your blog, I’ll subscribe to it, and you would have found yourself a new reader.
Finally, even though I read four hundred feeds, I’m always looking out for interesting posts to link to. So, if you have written or read an interesting post or article, do send me a tip by e-mail or via my contact form. If I like the post, I’ll link to it on DesiPundit or Global Voices (if it’s from a desi blog), or on Linkastic (if it fits Amit’s very strict guidelines), or on my blog itself.
An afterthought - while my five favorite desi bloggers are not interested in doing the meme, why don’t you write a post on who your five favorite desi bloggers are and why you love reading their blogs. Consider yourself tagge

Talking about Business and Finance appears drab and unglamorous on the Blogosphere. But I enjoy what I am doing and am not trying to be like somebody else. Fact is, I have learnt many new things and have met (virtually) many fabulous people. One is you.
