Pipl: A People Search Engine So Good That It’s Scary
Welcome back to Gauravonomics Blog! Subscribe to my feed now and you'll never miss a single post!
Roi Carthy at TechCrunch calls Pipl a “people search engine so good, it will scare your pants off”, and he is absolutely right.
I searched for Gaurav Mishra and here’s what I found: quick facts, personal profiles, contact details, email addresses, photos, blogs, websites, news stories, and even mentions in PDF documents.
Roi explains that Pipl is so good because its algorithm crawls the deep web, or (mostly dynamic) pages that no other pages link to. In any case, it’s scary that a search engine is able to collect and make sense of so much public information about someone.
