Support ‘The Marketer Who Went Off Consumption’ In Oxford Bookstore’s e-Author Contest

Welcome to The Marketer Who Went Off Consumption! Subscribe to my RSS feed in a feed reader or by e-mail and you'll never miss any chapters from my year-long blog-as-a-book experiment on why we choose to consume, or not.

Okay, here’s some good news.

The folks from Oxford Bookstore are actually considering ‘The Marketer Who Went Off Consumption’ as a valid entry in their e-Author contest, even though they will leave the final decision to the appraisal committee.

Thanks for submitting your entry for e-Author version 5.0.

Please confirm that the entry sent for the writing program is original and unpublished. We might not be able to consider your entry because it’s already been self-published through your blog. We will leave it to the decision of our Appraisal Committee.

Best Regards,

To satisfy their concerns about the book being self-published on the blog, I pointed out that I have put up a very thoughtful copyright notice in the sidebar —

Hi,

Thanks for considering my entry for the contest.

I confirm that my entry is previously unpublished.

Even on my blog, I have pledged all rights to my future publishers –

Unlike my other blogs, I’m not publishing this blog/ book under a Creative Commons license.

All rights to this blog/ book are the property of my future publishers. You can link to my posts, and even publish (really) small excepts, but use your judgment, because my future publishers won’t look kindly at copyright violation.

:-)

Regards,

Gaurav Mishra

However, I have a hunch that some enthusiastic online support will help my cause in the contest.

So, if you agree with me that it will be a great disservice to Indian blogosphere in specific, and Indian literature in general, to not consider ‘The Marketer Who Went Off Consumption’ in the contest, e-mail them to support my entry, then forward the e-mail to me for my record.

Everyone who supports my entry through an e-mail will get a free copy of ‘The Marketer Who Went Off Consumption’ when it is published.

I’ll be looking forward to my in-box being flooded by a hundred e-mails. :-)
